Lake Poem

Shaun Gladman, November 2003

Sunlight streams through crooked glass
To where I stand, and plays on walls.
Yet beyond the room my gaze is cast—
Outside, over paths where willows fall,
The blinding, ray-hued blue still calls.

Notes on the poem

Shaun wrote this as a joke, describing the Blue Waters Lake where the Weeks family lives in Ocean Grove. I also think Shaun just wanted to use an em-dash.
